This course provides a basic understanding of Identify Theft and Cyber Security, who it affects and how to protect client information and prevent thefts from occurring. The course gives a general overview of the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act, who must comply to the Act, how to comply to its instructions and how to safeguard and protect taxpayer information as well as your own. This course will also cover a variety of cyber threats that aid in identity theft, their descriptions, effects. and how to avoid or prevent them from occurring. Upon completion of course, participants will have a basic understanding of the Graham-Leach-Bliley Act, its purpose and who’s responsible and how to comply, as well various ways to maintain the security of client information and prevent identity theft by being aware of various cyber security threats.
